Greenwich Concours Honors Allard

The Greenwich Concours honored the 75th anniversary of the Allard Motor Company featuring classes of Allard Road and Allard Track. The Concours, dormant since the onset of the pandemic, is now under the careful stewardship of Hagerty, a collector car insurance company. Hagerty also manages car storage and club facilities, a national Drive Share program, the Michigan based Concours of America and the famed Amelia Island Concours.
The concours now employs ICJAG (International Chief Judge Advisory Group) judging, a stringent 100-point system which resembles marque judging and stresses originality and authenticity. Fifteen Allards were accepted for field positions on Sunday. Several of them ran in the Concours Grand Tour on Friday. Wiring woes and driveline problems sidelined two but they were able to return to the lawn of peninsula-like Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Sunday.
Allard stalwart and Allard Owners Club Vice President and North American Membership Secretary, Andy Picariello, prevailed in the Allard Road class with his stunning blue 1950 Allard K2. His Allard J2 earned a Concours Speed and Style Award in the Allard Track class.
Nick Grewal brought his K2, a rally champion in the fifties, and earned a Speed and Style award. Axel and Hanko Rosenblad are east coast constants wherever Allards are welcome. Axel brought his black K2 but it was Hanko who scored a win with a Speed and Style Award for her 1953 Allard Palm Beach.
James Taylor brought three magnificent Allards and took home a Speed and Style award as well as a National Automotive Heritage specialty award.
Gerry Lettieri is the proud owner of Zora Arkus-Duntov’s Ardun powered Allard J2 Ardun prototype. The well-preserved Allard racer was the winner of the Best in Class for the Allard Track class. (Pictured Below)
